No power is ground
#31 is ground on headlight socket and to #31 ignition switch board
#56 Is power from ignition switch board to #56 on H/L switch
#56a and 56b on H/L switch to 56a and 56b headlight socket

All 4 terminals on the headlight socket should not have 6.5 volts
#31 on the headlight socket goes to ground (original should be a brown) and goes to #31 on ignition switch board

Wouldn't both plugs be fouled if the air filter
Was restricted not only left side ?

The magneto and the charging circuits are independent of each other so no the voltage regulator would not be the problem

The headlight works when running or not running

Headlight should go on as long as you have a good battery, key is down and turned clockwise

Cory Welcome Back Great looking bike The white wire from the high beam indicator light should go to 56a on the terminal board, power from 56a on the h/l flasher switch and also to the original white 56a on the headlight bulb bulb/socket The yellow low beam wire should connect to 56b on the headlight...

#1 to HO switch board
#3 to 56 switch board
#2 To 56a Headlight bulb
#4 To 56b Headlight bulb
