Sorry, I got my numbers mixed

Sorry, I got my numbers mixed up...I had a standard 105 jet in there, but swapped back to a 120 which i used to run about 2 years ago and got good power from that. I also put in a new float on one side, and will be back at the sync again tomorrow. But, now I gotta resolve an electrical issue with my...

I think i have found the

I think i have found the issue after talking with the local mechanic. Last year I switched to running .15 jets in my carbs, as before i was running .2 and the carbs kept having issues and seemed to be flooding. So, talking with him, he said while those jets will work great to run the bike a little l...

I think I would faint if I

I think I would faint if I came across a R69S for that price...you can easily snag those parts off ebay for not too much. Then just start polishing the bits, and in no time you will have a real looker.

Yeah, I just put the new

Yeah, I just put the new filter in after I was posting about cleaning the old one. I was running the larger filter box (r69s style) for the past year, but I found it really did nothing to increase performance. So this past week I went back to the smaller one, with new filter in there too. Seemed to ...

I checked the plugs, and yeah

I checked the plugs, and yeah black as night. So gave em a good brush off, but yeah that means fuel is running rich again. No idea why, these carbs have been really cleaned up a lot over the past year, the jets swapped for new ones, etc. I got the tune just right last year with the local guy here......

I will look into most of

I will look into most of this...the carbs, I did loads of work on these last year: cleaned em fully, new floats, and had my local guru help me sync and tune the bike to normal, we even reviewed the main jets and took em down from .2 to .15 as .2 was flooding. I have the Bing book, and did some basic...

High RPM = gas sputters/misses

On my 1960 R50, when I hit higher rpms, or try to hit about 110/120kpm, the gas really sputters or just misses. I have cleaned out the left side carb which seemed to be the issue (leaky fuel, seemed like flooding). But even now, I still getting lots of sputtering and jerks at higher RPMS, say like i...

Cleaning Air Filter?

Can the air filter in the small filter housings (1960 R50) be cleaned and reused, or does it need to be swapped out every x amount of miles?

You guys back in the states

You guys back in the states and Europe have no idea how good you have it...Over here in Thailand there are quite a few vintage BMWs, mostly /2 generation, but some older r51s and 67s do popup. But to find a bike here that actually has the registration (title and plate) it cost a fortune. You can sav...
