1971 BMW R75/5 Diode board

I think my diode board is bad so I did a video of the multimeter readings.
Please let me know if the link cannot be opened and I’ll try a different format.

Re: Muffler mounting R75/5

The mufflers are the originals that came on the bike. I’ve concluded that, even though it is not perceptible to the eye, at some point in the bike’s life the left header may have been slightly tweaked or bent. By pushing the attached muffler with slight pressure and holding it in place with a slidin...

Re: Muffler mounting R75/5

srankin, The left axle sits just under the muffler as you describe. The right muffler bracket lines up perfectly. The left shock absorber mounting bolt lines up in the middle of the muffler and prevents the muffler bracket holes from lining up with the threaded mounting holes on the sun frame. My sw...

The mufflers have a slight bend either upward or downward depending on which side they are mounted on. I mounted with a downward bend. Is this correct? Link to photo above.
Thanks

Re: Muffler mounting R75/5

Thanks to all for the input. I’ll loosen everything and start from the rear and work forward to see if that helps.

Muffler mounting R75/5

After 10 years I’m finally about to finish up the restoration of 1971 R75/5. The right muffler fits fine with no issues but I’ve hit a snag with the left muffler attaching to frame. The weld on the muffler bracket seems to be blocking the muffler from being able to align with the two threaded holes ...

Same bearing I used for swing

Same bearing I used for swing arm is used for the rear hub. So I can use the Cycle Works race puller that I used on the swing arm. Is there any thing different that I need to consider when I install the race that is different from installing the swing arm race? I read one guy's restoration account w...

'71 R75/5 Rear Hub

I'm installing new spokes on the rear wheel. I noticed that there is some pitting on the bearing race where water obviously has worked its way between the race and the bearing. Should the race be replaced or is some slight pitting something that will not cause major concerns. I cannot find any infor...

1971 R75/5 Guide Ring Questions with Photos

I am replacing the rear main seal. When I removed old seal I noticed that the guide ring has a couple of places that it looks like there has been some metal chipped away. There were no metal fragments in evidence and no sign of what may have caused the damage. Also it does not appear that there is a...
