Re: Good value, or...?

It's because it said "barn find" in the ad. If my bike was in the condition I found it after sitting for almost 20 years It would probably be worth so much more than it is now :)

Centering Bushing?

I was looking at rebuild parts for my Bing carburators and noticed that the diagram shows a spacer inside the motor side of carburetor called a centering Bushing. I've been riding the the bike, a 69 R50US for 9 years without this part installed and wondered if I needed to put them in.

Re: R50/2 brake rebuild problem

I had the same problem with my R50 when I did the brakes, the pads were just a little bit too tight. I took some sandpaper and took just enough off to clear.

Tank Emblem Restoration

I wanted to restore a scratched emblem for my 1969 R50US. First I purchased some glass polish and some small buffing wheels. Looks Great

Thanks, your bike looks great, very original. I spoke to someone locally who does pinstriping for a local shop. He just did a BMW and it look good.

Paint front fender

I have a 69 R50US that has a front fender that needs to be repainted. It has very little damage, just a scrape in the front but the paint and the pinstriping is damaged. I was thinking about sending it out to be painted and wondered if anyone had experience with any shops and had an idea of how much...

R50US fender emblem

I have a 69 R50US and it doesn't have a rear fender emblem. Does anyone know if they had one originally? If you have a picture of one I would like to see it. Thanks

Timing

I would also check the ignition timing. I once had the advance spring break and caused the advance to go too far. This caused an overheating problem and then new pistons.
