R90S Side stand

Judging by the weight ,the hardness and the fact that its magnetic . I reckon that its a cast steel shaft with the "foot" welded onto it.

Im looking at satin chrome ?

Mufflers

Just a question - were the Hoske mufflers an option on new bikes.

They seem very reasonably priced from Siebenrock - sound nice as well ?

R90s side stand

I have taken off the original side stand from my 75 R90s
It has been painted black and looks horrible and i want to return it to original colour / plating.
Ive looked at some pics and it looks plated .
Can anybody confirm what type of plating was on the original ?

Thanks

Noise

Just been out to workshop .
Removed slides- rotated springs
Filled spring pockets with grease
Reassembled

Noise gone !!

I think its the orientation of the spring.

Will probably come back.

Thanks

R60/2 carb noise

Ive been doing some work on my R60/2 and have noticed a noise from the carb slide return springs if i open the throttle. It sounds as if the return springs are to long and when they are compressed they are 'buckling' sideways and hitting the inside if the casting. I have greased the springs but the...

Torque values

Can anybody tell me the best place to find a comprehensive list of recommended torque settings for /2 bikes ? I have the front shocks off my bike and cannot find a correct value for the top and bottom attachment bolts. Ive noticed that that the bolts have a metric fine thread , i don't want to over ...

Camshaft bearing

I happened to read this advert for a replacement camshaft bearing and housing. Was wondering if any one had fitted one . Not sure if i believe all that they claim. Below is a copy of the advert Camshaft bearing cast iron/bronze lining [1140110]BMW 2V Beemer Airhead Motorcycle accessories and spare p...

I think i might pull it of and have a look.
The only thing i can't understand is that with the clutch lever in , which disengages the engine rpm from the input shaft, the 'whine' is still there? And changes as i increase or decrease the rpm .
