Yep, that "looks" right. This

Yep, that "looks" right. This is my point: on the Vech site and Roland Slabon in "How to Restore Your BMW Motorcycle" it specifies that the wide stripe is to be 1/8" wide. I for the life of me can not find any original painted bikes or in original photos that shows that wide...

The Steib fender in the photo

The Steib fender in the photo on my first posting was done to Vech's specifications. That is why I threw up the red flag.

While it looks elegant, it looks wrong.

Confusing. Jeff your sizes

Confusing.

Jeff your sizes seem right and are reflected in the original ads for the bikes.

The ones Vech has seem wrong. He says the wide stripe is an 1/8". That does not look right in the original literature and on original painted bikes I have seen.

URGENT pin stripe specifications R60/2

I am having my 1966 R60/2 painted. The stripes have already been done and they look wrong to me. There seems to be conflicting specs. on the stripes. Which one is correct? : -The wide stripe is 6mm or approximately 3/16 inch wide. The space between the stripes is 3mm or approximately 3/32 inch wide....

H Bruce,

Thanks for the reply.

I have been getting replies over on the Steib group as well.
The answers are all over the place.

I "think" at this point I am going to try out the Block K on the rear, Block C on the front and Block C on the sidecar.

I have posted on a few other

I have posted on a few other sites and spoke to Ideal in Germany (where I bought my SC). Tire choice seems to be very subjective, as it is with all tires, I guess. So far consensus is: Side car = Block C Rear = Block K Front = Block C or Block K I would love to hear from someone with an R60/2 and a ...

Sidecar tire choices

Hello, I am having a R60/2 restored to be used with a Steib S-500 sidecar. The bike and sidecar with stay together and the bike will not be ridden without the SC. The Steib sidecar has a Metzler Block C 3.50x18" tire. If I use a Metzler Block K 4.00 on the rear of the bike what is recommended f...
