Re: R27 GENERATOR HELP PLEASE

Thanks for the offer to test my R27 generator with the Growler. i'm waiting to get it back from a local shop that could not find where the fault lays.
I'll contact you after I check something else myself.

Thanks again, Will

BING MYSTERY...

THE MYSTERY FOR ME IS... HOW THE POSITION OF THE CARB NEEDLE, WHICH HAS FOUR HOLES NEAR THE TOP, IS DETERMINED. THE WIRE CLIP PASSES THROUGH A HOLE IN THE SLIDE AND THE CORRECT HOLE IN THE NEEDLE. THE SERVICE MANUAL THAT I HAVE SHOWS IN THE SPECS " NEEDLE POSITION 2". IS THAT SECOND FROM T...

TESTING WITH A MULTIMETER, I FOUND 2.0 OHMS BETWEEN THE + AND - TERMINALS, 6.86 K OHMS BETWEEN THE +TERMINAL AND THE HI-TENSION CONNECTION, AND 6.86 K OHMS BETWEEN THE - TERMINAL AND THE HI-TENSION CONNECTION. I HOPE THE NEW COIL WILL...

Re: BING CARB NEEDLE

thanks for the info, the float is new as of 3 years ago and has seen only a few miles, but i am going to get into the float chamber to see if any thing unusual is happening. but, it's starting to get me thinking it is spark related, I've replaced the condenser, spark plug, idle jet, main jet, points...

Re: BING CARB NEEDLE

thanks, the clip was in the top hole in the needle when i pulled the slide, i moved it to the second hole and that may be a little better for the idle, but it will still stall after idling for a while. i noticed that the idle speed will increase if i lean the bike to the left, and decrease if leaned...

BING CARB NEEDLE

HOW TO DETERMINE WHICH HOLE IN THE NEEDLE OF AN R 27 BING CARB THAT THE CLIP SHOULD BE IN ?
I KNOW THAT THE NEEDLE GOVERNS THE MID RANGE, BUT MINE IS IN THE TOP HOLE AND I THINK IT MAY BE CAUSING A LEAN MISS AT IDLE ONLY. OPINIONS ???
THANKS, WILL
