Point taken, Craig. I intend to replace the charging system with a newer one that is specifically made for a lithium battery. I think Euro Moto Electric makes such a system.

I'm hoping to reduce some weight off my 1976 R90S and to that end I'm looking for replacements for the stock seat, tank, mufflers and anything else that will make the bike lighter. Any help or advice is much appreciated.
