Re: 1969 R69S US Crank Balancer (damper)

I've read an article long time ago, somebody (Rabenauer?)raced and tested r69s for torsional vibration and find out 6300rpm is critical rpm to avoid either staying under or quickly going higher.True or not I don't have one fitted as not all parts were available last time I've checked. My crankshaft i...

Re: Sparkplug issue

You didn't write a word about bike behaviour, how the engine pulls, does it work as it should at all throttle openings, vibration, smoke if any,wet pistons, dry pistons.Don't expect much change to spark colour from idle circuit settings unless you ride at tickover revs.If it's a fuel problem do you have...

Re: R51/2 - rocket arm washer

Re: BING LEVER TOPS

So it leaks after riding with closed tap?If so on a hot day fuel may boil in the carbs,it does in my 69s if I close the tap after fast ride, with open tap it doesn't leak any fuel hot or cold as long as parked level.By leaking fuel I mean few drops. New carb tops are good solution as long as you kno...

Re: 1965 R50/2 - run-in advice wanted

Not surę what is he writing about,on the top of the KS pistons for the r 69,r50r69s three is 0.05 number stamped so 0.002inch Is close enough.0.003 or more depend on applications is right for the Nural pistons in r69 or69s,why make it to loose when no longer needed?

Re: 1965 R50/2 - run-in advice wanted

I've broken in two of these after total rebuilds. An R50 and an R69. I had to be very careful with the R50 as my machinist bored 1st over to only 2 1/2 thou clearance. Just curious,as far as I know both bikes require 0.05 or 2 thou clearance with modern KS pistons so unless you are using nos Nurals...
