Got my cylinders back and fitted to new pistons and rings. Big thanks to Mike over at Vintage Beemer parts fast quality service.

Got the motor back together and installed in the frame. Waiting for the cylinders and pistons to be delivered from the machine shop. Soda blasted the heads and lapping the valves also waiting for new insulating washers for under the valve springs. The valve’s and guides look really good. And with so...

Great info that’s an awesome salutation to the proper adjustment. I didn’t pay much attention when I removed the wires but I didn’t want to bend the pointer that far. Again thanks to you guys. Ron

Safety spark gap

What is the purpose of this setting. Figure 110 says it should be 10 to 11mm on my R50 it is way more than that I could set it to 10mm but it would take some bending of the contact to so. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Ron

Been debating on what to do with the motor. Well after much procrastinating it’s tear it apart time and glad I did. Found a real problem with one cylinder looks like at one time something was on top of the piston see pictures. Someone must have removed it and put it back together and ran it. Once I ...
