Re: R60/6 right carb keeps running dry

Called bing. They said to use an aluminum epoxy. I don’t like that idea. But that’s my last resort. I think I might try machining a new one.

Re: R60/6 right carb keeps running dry

Well the issue returned and I found the culprit. The float needle seat is loose for some reason. Basically it drops while driving. I don’t know how it got like this. When I replaced it, I used a puller and I believe it was tight when I put it in. I tried putting a new seat in from bing but it was al...

Re: R60/6 first gear dragging

I'm hoping it's just tight from sitting. I'll know for sure when it gets warm out. (also probably when the leaks will start)

Re: R60/6 first gear dragging

I haven't touched a thing on the transmission besides changing the trans fluid. I'll check the clutch adjustment. thanks

R60/6 first gear dragging

Hello, If you've seen my other threads, I have a '74 R60/6 with just about 906 miles now. It was sitting for about 20 years before I started working on it. I'm not sure if this is normal but when I go to put it into first gear, I have to clutch in, and then sometimes roll the bike forward to get it ...

Re: R60/6 value for insurance

I ended up just going with an estimated value of $10,000. It's going to need a rebuild in the near future due to old seals. But I'll run it like Harley until it gets bad. Then I'll be future-proofing this thing. What seals are leaking? Most common and visible without teardown are the pushrod seals....

Re: R60/6 right carb keeps running dry

I use 93 octane with 10% ethanol. Seafoam is a cleaner and stabilizer. I've had good luck with it. My stuff sits a lot so fuel has a tendency to go bad. The seafoam seems to keep things running clean in the carbs. A good example is this John deere gator I have. It was sitting for a bit and I started...

Re: R60/6 right carb keeps running dry

This weekend I'll drain the tank, check the fuel taps and screen, and then report back. On the topic of fuel, does anyone use any additives? My go-to has always been sta-bil and seafoam. I saw Amsoil offered a motorcycle octane boost and was considering giving it a try.
