Vintage BMW Motorcycle Owners

Max BMW fiche is my source. Guess I'll replace them all and play dough the piston tops. Looking for .080 int and .100 ex. MIN. clearances

1960 R50 fiche shows length to be 24.35mm, all 4 of mine are 24mm end to end. Why are mine shorter.
I'm changing out a damaged one.

My machinist is making me a tool on the lathe.

1960 r50 Sent the jugs off to Max bmw for refresh.
Wrist pin bushings have a slight radial (rocking)
play with piston pin installed.
Anyone know of availability of tool for r&r of said bushings.

After 63 years and unknown miles it's my desire for parts to be inspected for serviceability as was done when slingers were changed last year. I'll ship the jugs to Max for dimensional check,they're my age and for piece of mind I'd like some accurate measurements prior to deciding my course of actio...

Burning a qt. of oil per 250 miles. Any shop suggestions for a top end and possible rebore? 1960 R50. Thanks

UPDATE
Kept mag points ignition and installed VAPE 12V upgrade. 750 miles so far and doing great.

With the battery disconnected the mag will run the engine.
Should any other connections be disabled to prevent generator damage?
