Re: When did Dover White really start?

There is a "Dover White" and a "Feather White" color available for the pre /2 and post /2 bikes. "Dover White" appeared on some R 69 bikes through the years and "Feather White" was an Authority color like Police or Military use. They are two very distinct and ...

Re: OEM cable ties

Are the OEM cable ties available somewhere? I have a number of Airhead restoration projects and would like to get my hands on bunch as it would be helpful to have a source for them.

Re: Sticking Clutch /2

I would assume from your narrative the R 60/2 has been sitting for a while. If that's the case you might just have get it out and ride a little to loosen up the bond between the clutch disc and the pressure plate. My R 60US sat for a while and it was so stuck I ended up pulling the transmission just...

Re: /2 Seat Parts

That's a dual wide seat frame and spring set up and may not be the same as the standard dual seat. At some point the reproduction seat that is available and very expensive may be an option.

Re: Morris Mag Wheels

I sent you a message and yes you might be able to modify a later airhead caliper mount and caliper to work. I started to do it but had no extra caliper for the final mounting so it stalled right there.

Re: Suggestions when buiding a conversion

My question a while back was. How do you undo the frame modifications after someone did a conversion. I undid the gas tank mount, the seat mount and rebuilt the side stand bracket after I some how managed to find the original (numbers matching) engine block for the 505. The 505 is a confirmed origin...

Re: Which sealent/glue?

I have used JB weld on the last few resurrections / restorations. You just have to be careful and satisfied with the fit.

Re: 1969 R69S Advice to a new comer

Buy it and educate yourself on how to repair and maintain or if needed restore the bike. The R 69US is a very rare, end of the /2 and limited production model. I think in '69 there were about 1500 made and dedicated to the US market. They don't exist in Europe, just in the USA. $4,000 is a deal you ...

Re: Offset Footrests on 1967 R60/2

The most important reason in my opinion is the clearance you have from the cylinders and carburetors. For those who insist on wearing lace up boots or shoes it helps to avoid laces and such getting hung up on the adjustment screws. It only happened to me once and fortunately my knee cap survived the...
