Re: Avonaire mounting instructions

I just tried to upload a huge PDF file and got a message that said it was too large. If you didn't get any messages, then I'm not sure. What was the size of the file you tried to upload? I could find something I have around the same size and see what happens to me.

Re: Under tank mastercylinder switch replacement R/80

This appears to be something that fits water cooled VWs. The IBMWR site lists the item although not by part number. Your part number fits many VWs per the Autozone website:

Re: Avonaire mounting instructions

I just uploaded a smallish PDF to a post...didn't seem to have a problem. Maybe yours is too big?

Re: Heavy Duty Inner Tubes.

What do you mean "suddenly running out of air"? I don't see the benefit of heavy duty inner tubes. For certain applications, probably, but generally riding around I'm not so sure. I would think also that the thicker tubes would retain more heat.

Re: Help me understand the points circuit...

Interesting. And here I thought that the reason for the spark was that when points are closed, current is flowing through the primary coil which due to physics induces a voltage in the secondary coil. When the points open, the primary coil field disappears, and the secondary coil collapses and the v...

Re: Reference pictures on 66 R 50 transmission

The S on the transmission should be near where the speedometer cable enters the back right side of the case. S stands for solo (or is it sport) and not sidecar as some think.

Unstamped final drive

Has anyone seen a final drive for a /2 (pre 1970) bike without a final drive ratio stamped on the outside? The question came up on the MOA forum:

Re: R80, R100 fuel tank on R90/6

I think the primary issue going to be the seat-tank combination. The /6 seats are relatively long while the /7 tank is also long. That means there will be conflict. If you put a /7 seat on a /6 bike, there will be a gap between the seat and tank.
