Re: Reynolds Ride Off Stand

Welcome! I have had a Reynolds on my /7 since the early years when I bought the bike used. Probably put it on in the '82-83 timeframe. The stands tend to generate some discussion like tires and oil!! But I would never go back to the stock stand. The bike is more stable on the center stand as the wei...

Re: 1969 R69S US Crank Balancer (damper)

Define "pretty hard". I'd say no since the issue is really running the engine at wide open throttle and probably above 95 mph and near max RPM.

Re: BMW 50/2 Dimmer switch wiring questions

It brightens when you increase engine RPM since the charging system is getting more efficient and dumping more into the battery. The lights run off of what's in the battery.

Re: How much brake lining is enough?

I can't find anything for the /2. But for my 1970-on Airhead, it lists 1.5mm minimum thickness. If you're at 2mm and you're there, seems like a good idea just to go ahead and replace the brake material.

Re: Another /6 Electrical Question

That high beam light in the tach seems pretty simple. It has one power wire going to it and the other wire goes to ground. The power wire hooks to the small board in the headlight shell. On the other side of that terminal are two wires for power. One goes to the headlight, presumably getting power w...

Re: Sparkplug issue

This particular adjusting screw actually has a hole running through the middle of it. Air gets into the screw coming under and around the small cap that is on the outside. The air then goes through some small holes near the outside and then through holes that are in the tapered end of the screw. Whe...

Re: Sticking Clutch /2

Welcome! I would certainly consider greasing the transmission input splines. I would also be sure you clutch adjustment is correct. You should have 5-6mm of free movement of the shift lever at the back of the transmission and you should also have some free play at the hand lever.
