Re: R60/2 Question on rocker arm movement.

Just google "Scotties Workshop". He's a contributor here on the forum. Or go to the Knowledge Base in the upper right and then to Useful Links. Scottie's info is on Page 8.

Re: R60/2 Question on rocker arm movement.

Will have to wait for your report. The issue with the butterheads was the chemical process in making the aluminum heads that resulted in the softness. I don't think the repairs that were done to refurb your head addressed the base issue...if indeed you have butterheads. The fix is to find a set of L...

Dave -

That's why I asked the question. Here's Duane's discussion of butterheads:

Re: First breakdown.. had to get towed.

Easy enough to swap back if the bike fails again. Change one thing and then you'll have something to work with.

I think condensers can be hit or miss. I thought I had some info on aftermarket condensers...what I have are items for a /2 and the suggestion was one for a 1973 Ford Torino.

Re: R60/2-Now my generator has quit working!

Looks pretty slick! Question...do the triangular points near the end of the spark plug wires still come into play? On the magneto system, those points needed to be within 10-11mm of the end of the wire for safety purposes. Just wondering if that's the same need now.

Re: Solo Saddle - Comfort

Joe - It's clearly a personal butt issue! My R69S came with a bench seat, the wider one. It was a bit uncomfortable because it was so wide where my legs went down to the pegs, and especially with my feet on the ground. And to my eye, the bench seat just isn't that sexy. Re: 76 R90/6 Not Starting

Jerry - Welcome to the forum! Be sure and check the easy stuff...check the kill switch position. Also be sure that the battery ground is good as well as the other battery connections. After that, I'd track down the starter relay...should be a black 1" cube on the left side of the frame under the tan...

Welcome to the forum! I just googled "bmw motorcycle exhaust wrench" and saw several examples for less than $40. Max BMW sells it for less than $40.
