Re: Horn mounting on R69s

Hi - I hope the attached pictures help. I've always been concerned by how close to the tank the horn is, but it seems to be fine. You'll need suitable lock washers etc.

Re: Engine & carb stampings

The ‘K’ & ‘D’ stampings are on the crankcase not the transmission case.

Engine & carb stampings

Hello I've searched the forum and just about understand the meaning of the '+2' stamp on my '66 R69S crankcase. However, there is also a 'K' just above, and a 'D' close to the gearbox. Does anyone know the significance of these? Also the carbs are stamped with '3/5' below the carb model numbers. I g...

Re: Schorsch Meier Sport tank cover

Glad the pictures were of use. Reading Skip Vezzatti's rely above, I remembered that the bike was bought from Blue Moon Cycle of Norcross Ga by the previous British owner. Included in the paperwork I got with the bike is a receipt for the tank cover for US$169. The cover is still listed in the Blue ...

Re: Schorsch Meier Sport tank cover

I note that you want a full tank cover. Having looked at my tank cover, that came with the bike but I have never used, I understand what you mean by a 'bra' cover. I've attached a couple of pictures in case they are of interest to anyone. The cover is made of (synthetic) leatherette, leather and gre...

Re: R69s ideal speed per gear?

I too had not noticed those blue marks on my mph speedo - you learn something new every day! They must correspond to max rev limits with standard gearing (34, 60 & 80 mph). I change-up on my R69S at speeds a lot lower than those; into top gear at about 50 mph. Bike certainly keen to rev and smoo...
