Re: Alternative rear crank bearing

What is the SKF bearing number?

Is it a barrel bearing? Two row roller? I have also read about those being used.

Re: How much brake lining is enough?

I think you’ve answered what I suspected: there is no specification.

How much brake lining is enough?

Perhaps this is an easy question, but how much brake lining is enough? I’ve just taken possession of a R 69s project. The brake pads obviously have seen some use, but when I consult the Clymer manual, it says only to replace the brake pads when they look low. That’s not too helpful. New pads have ab...

Re: How to contact Cycle Werks.

To be clear: I’m looking for a replacement part for part of the MIOT that broke. Not simply placing an order for an entire tool.

No response.

So I’m moving on and fixing it myself.

Probably easier and cheaper anyway.

How to contact Cycle Werks.

I’ve been trying to reach Cycle Werks regarding some tools, however the phone number on the website is the wrong number and the contact form goes unanswered.

Is there some other way to reach them?

Re: Who is your go-to parts supplier?

1. Vintage Beemer Parts (seems to be mostly the Uli’s catalog but domestic and faster)

2. Max BMW- Bench Mark Works parts, plus the entire BMW parts catalog.

3. Uli’s

4. Mark Huggett… when I want or need absolutely the best quality or unobtainium, Huggett delivers.

Horn mounting on R69s

Anyone got a picture of how their horn is mounted on an R69s? I picked up a new project. It’s an R69s. The horn was mounted in some crazy fashion, so that had to go. - The two extra mounting brackets for the horn on the R50S/R69s were missing. - The hydraulic steering damper is in the way of using t...
