Re: Trace a film

I remember seeing a movie like that back in the early 80s on all night TV. I was on night shift. Didn't the copper turn out to be the baddie? No idea whatsoever what it was called.
I was running my R26 at the time, I might even have ridden it to work that night, I don't recall.

Re: R26 Spoke install problem

I noticed this problem when recently stripping an R26 wheel.
I can't offer any help but I'll be following this with interest.

Re: R27 Cold Start Nightmare

Seek's idea about the sticking advance is a good one. Thinking about it now, that may be why mine played up in a similar fashion. Though of course the 26 & 27 have different units.
Sorry to keep bringing this back to my bike, but the symptoms are so similar it's worth comparing ideas.

Re: R27 Cold Start Nightmare

Would the raging idle be due to air leaks?
Mine initially did things like that- engine speed going wild. I sprayed the joins with carb cleaner but couldn't find anything. I couldn't get to the bottom of it but it eventually came good.

Re: R27 Cold Start Nightmare

I'd pretty much go along with what's been said here. I start my R26 in a similar manner to r67. My bike's been back on the road for about a year now & I had a host of similar problems to yours. Make sure the carby's clean & go through the electrical connections, loosening, retightening &...

Re: R26 Key Switch Removal

Firstly, is the switch assembly tightened properly by the 4 tabs that hold it to the headlight shell? If these are a bit loose the key may not be able to make good contact. And if it's engine vibration that causes the poor contact, some people just hold the ignition key down with a large band of ela...

R26 starts then stops

Hildy the R26 has turned into a bit of a pain at the moment. At first she began stopping out on the road. Didn't seem to have a spark. The spark usually condescended to return & I'd complete the trip. It got worse & at last had to be trailered home. I've checked wiring connections, replaced ...

Re: Rennesport Replica in the works

Yes, a complete wheel from a twin would be needed. Pretty much what you've done but fitted to an R26.

Re: Rennesport Replica in the works

Thanks for the info. So I wonder if anyone's fitted a TLS brake to an R26/7?
