Oh boy, I haven't looked at a clock for a R90S in years. LOL, for that matter the back of my current clock on my RT or RS, but I am almost certain they have a ground terminal? I don't see one in this clock.

Just a thought about the rough running, maybe you need a new spark plug lead on the one side? How old/many miles on the leads you have? They do age and go bad.
