Oil level

Wouldn't measuring with the dip stick screwed in result in under filling of the oil level? However yes, the oil level is correct. And I guess the exhaust valve guide is a quite possible suspect, wouldn't this also explain the good leakdown values, as the leak would only occur while the valve is open...

Thank you guys for great

Thank you guys for great info. I will check the operation of the breather pipe. Maybe this is actually normal operation. The oil leak is coming out the muffler. What are probable causes? I would say the leak is significant. Oil is almost "sputtering" out the muffler end. No info on when th...

Poor filming as I was one hand short while filming, operating the throttle, and pulling the dipstick at the same time.

R60 excessive crankcase pressure

1957 R60. Troubleshooting oil leak through right side exhaust while engine is running. Good compression (~9 bars) on both cylinders, and good leakdown readings. Some leakage is audible out the dipstick hole during leakdown test, but the % leakdown reading is good (at least according to the chinese m...

So just performed this

So just performed this procedure, and can confirm it is possible. Very tight clearances to be able to remove the shifter locking pin / bolt. I was just able to drive it out without damaging the frame. Also had to get creative to pull the seal, is it sits tight. Performed this by modifying a puller w...

Shift lever seal replacement

1957 R60. Is it possible to replace the shifter lever seal from the outside, without pulling the transmission out from the frame?

Regards,
Pat.

Must be replaced

That damage is way beyond repair. You will have to replace both the shaft and flange. If the tapers are in perfect condition, and the joint is torqued correctly, it will make for a really strong connection. Even small marks and scores will have a large impact on the joint strenght. Be aware that the...

CycleWorks

Have anyone ordered anything from CycleWorks.net lately?

I placed an order on the 28th of march, still not shipped. I've sent two emails without response and I've tried calling, no one is answering.

Has anyone heard anything from Dan lately?
