The reason some folks have trouble getting the motorcycle up on the centerstand is because modern reproduction centerstands are poorly made, the curved part of the bottom of the stand is too short, and so the bike cannot "roll" back as it should, and you have to "lift" the heavy bike back. Also the shorter more close-to-vertical bottom stand has an even greater risk of sinking into soft asphalt road in hot weather. Also the welded stud on the LHS used to lower the stand is round, it should be flatter as on the original center stand.
The whole design of the center stand is poor, designed for lighter and lower motorcycles, but not deadly like the original non self retractable side stand!
