Vintage BMW Motorcycle Owners

This picture is from the Steib Fan Club site and it piqued my interest. Does anyone here have any experience with this conversion? Does it work as its obviously intended to?

I'm using an R 27 Earles Fork on a /5 frame for my Rennesport Replica project, it works well you just have to make a few modifications for the steering damper assembly.
