What was necessary to fit the TLS front brake to the R26 forks?

What is a TLS front brake? The bike has a standard /2 front wheel hub and brake plate so it all works well and as it should and fit as it should.

The R26 has a smaller brake & hub, were any modifications needed to fit the larger brakeplate & hub?

No modifications or bad words were needed. The brake plate fit nicely.

The front wheel has an R 50/2 hub (40 spoke) laced to a 19 inch rim. The R 26 / 27 hub is smaller and has 36 spokes. It probably wont work. The only real difference between a twin and single earles fork is the diameter of the tubes of the unit.

Yes, a complete wheel from a twin would be needed. Pretty much what you've done but fitted to an R26.

I used to have a TLS front wheel in my R26, tbh it was excessive and a little over-braked, given the extremely modest performance of the bike, and I put the original wheel back in before I sold it, but, as has been said, it goes straight in.

I like brakes. Don't care about fast, do care about stopping.
Here's a few brakes collected, 2 I've used. Not correct for your application I suppose but they are fantastic.
The 260mm TD2 I have on an R50-S is like dropping anchor. Michael "Mercury" Morse found it for me a long time ago. We joked that it could have belonged to K.R., Sr. bike. lol
The 250 Fontana was on a project of mine. It stops very well too.
Mark Mitchells's Skeletonized Water Buffalo brake did well by him in AHRMA racing until they allowed discs. It's a piece of artwork he sold me a few years ago and is on the wall in my garage. It's good to go but I don't have anything for it.
