Hi Guys,

Im new to the forum and I recently picked up a 1989 R100 GS.

Any suggestions on replacement front fork spring sets? I am rebuilding the front suspension and wondering if anyone has advise. I have looked at the ones from EME (Progressive Fork Spring Set made by Enduralast), Progressive and the Wirth brand of spring sets.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi,

Is it a Bumble Bee and did you pick it up from the West Coast? I see you are from Canada.

Scott.

I'm on the East Coast (Nova Scotia)

Not a Bumble Bee, this bike was imported into Canada from Germany back in 1994 (so produced for the German domestic market), modified in Germany by the original owner with an R80 GSPD tank and a different headlight. I checked the Serial Number with Herr Andreas Harz from the BMW Group Classic Historisches Dokumentationszentrum in München (very helpfull) and he advised its an 89 R 100 GS Paris-Dakar.

I am currently doing a full restoration on it. Lots of fun.
