Denfeld solo seat suspension question

Doing some work on the bike and wanted to change the mounting holes for where the seat was mounted. It has me tilted too far forward. So I pulled off the suspension and is this how it’s supposed to be put together? Just doesn’t seem quite right.

In addition, why would the bottom mounting plate have two sets of three mounting holes? Thanks for any and all help!

Looks right to me. Not sure why the extra holes...maybe there was an earlier seat support. But I thought all /2 (1955-1969) solo seats were basically the same. I'm using the most aft two holes on the frame plate as well as the upper support to get the seat back as far as I can for my legs. Also, it should be more "springy" that far back.

You have it right, sometimes you need to use a temporary bolt to bolt it down because the rubber is a bit hard and you need to pull it down.

Bolt it to the seat and the front pivot and that Will hope you locate the holes in the frame.

1955 and I think '56 solo seats used a spring instead of a "silent block". As best I remember, most of the earlier frames have two sets of three holes for seat mounting. It's been a while since I mounted one, but pretty sure the rear set of three is for positioning a dual seat and the front set of three (two) is for mounting the spring/silent block. Could be wrong on this, so if someone would check both a solo and dual seat mounting position, appreciated.

Hope that helps.
