R51/3 - Left side handle unit: Mirror and Light/Horn Switch issues

Evening gents (it's 18:10 here in IL),
In the factory photos it is clear that the original stock motorcycle did not have a mirror on the left side, which is mandatory here in IL for every vehicle, including the vintage collectors vehicles.
In order to pass the local annual inspection, the previous owner clamped his after market mirror first in line on the handlebars right after the L/H unit, and only then installed the light/horn switch.
Problem is that in this way I have to have a 10-inch thumb to reach this light/horn switch, or in other words - remove my hand from the secure grip on the handlebars to get there.
So, those of you who live in places where there is also a duty to have a L/H mirror, or those who just decided to install one - I would love to see and hear solutions. I was already thinking of switching positions between the mirror and the light/horn switch, but I could not find an A/M mirror with a convex arm long enough to be effective, and the examiner at the testing institute usually sits on the bike and checks mirror view.
I am ready to go with a combined A/M fixture, if there is such a thing. I could not find one.
Thanks a lot in advance and a great weekend.
