Cycle Works no longer will supply an engine rebuild stand. How can I get a template for the four bolt pattern between the engine and the transmission? I intend to make my own stand, but I want it to be in hand when I remove the engine. I will appreciate any help. Regards, Elfenbein

Here is a link to the PDF file for the template I received from the Einzylinder forum.
I am part way through making my own from 2 x 1/2 flat bar (because that is what I had).
I will post a pic when it is done.
The dimensions on the right side drawing are for the singles.

While I am sure you have your own ideas on what you want an engine stand to look like. Here is the engine stand I made for my engines.
These photo are during construction.
The engine stand is now bolted to the floor in my shed next to my engine assembly table.

I also have a wooden one I use placed on my engine assembly table.

I had previously purchased these engine stands that were sold by Joel Repose.
They are meant to be attached to a generic car engine stand.

The blue one fits the /2 engines or gearboxes and the red one fits the /5, 6, and 7 engines and gearboxes.
The design is very strong. I had a /7 R75 engine running while mounted on the stand.
I used the dimensions from the Einzylinder forum to lay out a pattern to make a similar mount for the R25, 26 and 27 engines and gearboxes.

I used 2" x 1/2" flat bar and yellow paint because that was what I had on hand.

Joel's design is nice because you can flip and rotate the engine to make it easier to work on.

I will post another picture when I have my R26 engine on the stand.

Thank you very much for the excellent response. The right side of the V5017 drawing has the dimensions I need. Your in-progress mount and stand look like they will work very well. Good luck with your project, and thanks for your help with mine. Regards, Morgan
