Vintage BMW Motorcycle Owners

I had a couple of these kits for years and I would really like to complete at least one.

I've built models when I was a kid, so no problems there, but I haven't started one because I want to get the Silver Smoke paint correct.

Has anyone built one of these and if so, what did you do to paint it correctly?

An airbrush and a steady hand. Just for reference I saw a factory painted 90S tank that had at least 12-15 coats on it. Even they didn't get it the first time.
