It has been a bit of a slog and not quite there yet.

I have a complete head and rocker gear rebuild in the pipeline.
However first up I am going to run the new pistons and bottom end and get that bedded in and then I will backtrack to do the top end.

I actually have two R69s motors, so I may do up the heads off the other motor and when they are ready do a quick swap job.
I am doing the same with the gearbox. This bike currently has gearbox 2 installed. When I have rebuilt gearbox 1 I will swap out gearbox 2.

I guess I am working with what options I have.

Fuel lines, fuel, timing and connect generator, check the valve clearances and a general check over.

Who knows it might get a kick soon.

THE FINAL POST FOR THIS THREAD

Well did the engine timing, fresh fuel etc.

With fuel and ignition off I gave the old fella some kicks to get the oil pump at least primed.
Ignition on, fuel on, 10 seconds on the carbs, two kicks and he was up and running.

Carbs need to be fine tuned and there are other little bits and pieces but he's back together and rode him around the block quite smooth, no nasty noises etc.
14 months and that part of his refurbishment is complete.

Here is my little home made buzz box for static engine timing.
Riding around the block, which is just the local playing field.
You cant see the smile but I could barely fit it in my helmet.
Here he is after his short test ride.

I hope you were able to learn something from my rebuild, I know I certainly did.
