Headlight

The first image from skychs above (img_7131) is the exact same as my headlight assembly. I would think yours would be the same.

The main bulb is the high/low headlight and the LED lamp has two LEDs, one on top and one on bottom. That bulb is the:
- Headlight Double Dipper Bulb Part: BA20d Bosch Negative earth - FC2A

The smaller bulb is the parking lamp and I got the LED for that too (lower power consumption) and that is:
- Parking light 4W LED Part: BA9s 1 LED - AC2C

Hope that helps.

James

I ended up buyng an H4 Style LED headlight from the same people.

Good page showing light pattern here

I got the 60/55w P43t 5th Generation 12V. THey also do a 6V version. I tried a couple of leds from AliExpress but they were junk. This one is top quality.

You do need the H4 headlight reflector to make mounting easy. I got mine from bluemoon I think

LED photos

Sorry for the photo being sideways but its off my cell phone. The first photo is the LED upgrade. It may not look a lot brighter than the stock bulb in the photo but in person the light was very difficult to look at.

It truly is a plug and play bulb. Installed in less than a minute. It took me longer to unscrew the bolt in the headlight than it did to install the light bulb itself.

Great to hear!

Its great to hear that you are happy with them, I am equally as happy with mine. They make the 6 volt system useable with very bright bulbs and they use less power letting the charging system work easier.

Best,

James

Tried the new LED bulb and it is really worth it !!

Just want to add my comment;

I installed the 6 volt LED headlight bulb into my daily-rider R27 and the difference is incredible. I highly recommend them.
Painfully bright; actually, hard to look at.
I’m not convinced that it illuminates the road much better than the old incandescent bulb. Or, any better than the poorly focused but brighter halogen bulb …but I am FAR more visible to on-coming cars; day or night.
The cost is high. But that said, LED bulbs generally don’t burn out. I’ve lost count of the number of halogen and incandescent bulbs I’ve replaced over the years.
I’ll get one ASAP for my R51…AND one for my 1951 Norton Lucas Get-home-before-dark headlight. (currently it is more like a candle than a light bulb)

I’ve already got LED tail lights which are great…and now I’ve got something approaching a modern headlight so I’m a happy guy !!
any thoughts of converting to 12 volt is off the table.

Happy you like it!!

I finally got my LED lights from Europe and installed them. Very interesting design but it is indeed better than the original bulb. This design is a top/bottom LED. The top LED lights up in low. The top AND bottom LED's light up on high. When the low beam is on its funny because only half of the light bucket lights up. Very different indeed. I haven't been able to get out at night yet but with summer here it will not be long. Photos to follow.

I finally received the tail LED bulbs for my R60/2. Here are the comparison photos.

1, regular bulb
2, LED bulb
3, LED bulb with brake lights.

Its hard to show in the photos but you can see how the LED lights up the entire red lens. The Enduro bags lights are regular bulbs.
Sorry for the photos being sideways. Not sure what happened there.

LED Headlight Conversion for R60/2 (with Sealed Beam)

I have read the posts on converting the 6 volt headlight bulb to an LED bulb. But, my R60/2 had been converted to an automotive 6 volt sealed beam prior to me buying it.

Does anyone know of a complete 6 volt LED headlight set-up that would work with the standard automotive 3 prong plug?
Sorry if this has been covered already.

Thanks,
Jack
