Early 80's conversion back on the road again
Early 80's conversion back on the road again
This bike was originally built in Austin TX in the early 1980's and was known as "The Plumber's Bike". It was finished at Austin Sport Cycles by the owner who was a Daytona winning racer, campaigned an R100RS locally, and owned Reg Pridmore's R90S for many years before selling it to Ugo.
I picked up the bike as a rolling project after it kicked around garages across the US for 20 year, having lost the tank, seat and fairing along the way and spent about 18 months getting it back on the road.
The old picture is from the 1984 BMW MOA Rally in Montana.
This bike as a dream for about 25 years before building it, but I discovered that I am much more passionate about patina then I will ever be about fresh or new bikes... I am considering selling this one to pursue an original patina Dover White /2. Not sure yet though, LOL
