Indigenous People Day, Mt. Grace parking lot, Warwick, Mass. My SC rig and R75/5 (piloted by my friend Kris). Never did meet the owner of that very cool MG-A.

Finally cooling down in Arizona. Took the '55 R69 out for a ride after a long summer nap. Other than the Hoske mufflers, about as original a bike as you are likely to find.

Tom/George,
Appreciate the kudos! I picked this bike up from John Lacko about 20 years ago. John was pretty active buying and selling back then and we did quite a lot together. He had pulled the drivetrain to do an overhaul and just had too much going on at the time to finish it up. So... Anyway, I added the fairing (had it hanging in the rafters for a while looking for a home - LOL!) and the rest is history. About as nut and bolt correct as you are likely to find. One of my favorites!
Thanks.

One of the most enjoyable places to ride is the Pacific Northwest here in the US. The challenge begins in November or so as the temperature begins to fall as the rains remain pretty regular through the winter. None-the-less, some sweet moments can be found…yesterday was in the mid 40F range and sunny. The back roads were clear, the 1963 R69S-Steib LS200 rig gave me a break from the R26 rehabilitation efforts and the world seemed good.

I did live and ride up in North Queensland, Australia. Located in Townsville. We had the Atherton table lands which were lovely to ride. Just a couple hours of straight highway then up into the mountains to Atherton. Cairns to Port Douglas was another good ride.
But I have now moved down to Wagga Wagga in NSW. Haven't had chance to explore yet or even take the bikes off the trailer....

I'm in Austin, Travis Heights, very close to downtown. Would love to meet up with local vintage BMW riders. I'm still awaiting the finishing touches on my bike- all is done, but for repairing the board the "key" contacts, and cleaning up the wiring. Looks like most of the action is in Hill Country, which is an amorphous description for a whole lotta ground.

I live on California's Central Coast, in Santa Cruz on Monterey Bay. We have local mountains with lots of nice, twisty little roads, which I really enjoy on the old bikes.

I like to tour, I have a '93 R1100RS I keep with a friend in Germany and like to tour in Europe.

I also have a modern R1250RS for touring in the US. I did a big tour with some friends around the west and southwest last September, we did about 5,000 miles between California and Colorado. But I've also done long tours on my past and present plain bearing 2 valve bikes, and even up to 1,000 mile runs on the roller bearing bikes to BMW rallies.

But the longest rides I've done on my oldest bike were the 3 times I participated in the Motorcycle Cannonball https://motorcyclecannonball.com. Over 16 days I put 3,500-4,000 miles on my 1928 R52, going coast to coast.
