Flasher wiring on R69S

Post by agloeckle »

I am about two thirds of the way into a ground up restoration of a 1968 R69S. The "bike" was bought in boxes and bags of parts that was dismantled by a previous owner that gave up on the restoration. I have the Barrington Bible and it has gotten me as far as I am today - most mechanicals have been rebuilt, frame blasted and repainted & motor + trans installed. It is essentially a roller at this point. I have installed a new wiring harness and am trudging through the connections needed in the headlight.
The specific step that I am stuck on is the connections to the 6V LED flasher can that I bought from LEDLight.com.

I do not have a pilot lamp, so the "P" terminal won't be used. And there is a also separate wire coming from the can that is for ground. The R69S wiring diagram shows 2 leads (1 from the left handlebar switch and 1 from the 15/54 terminal on the ignition switch/board) going to a #15 blade on the flasher and 1 lead (from the right hand handlebar blinker switch) going to a #54 blade.
My question: Which of the blades on the flasher ("X" and "L") is considered #15 and which is considered #54?

Thank you VERY much!

The LED diagram shows power is received at the flasher by "X", which would correspond to power being fed from 15/54 on the headlight terminal board. (same terminal as horn/brake light wire(s) from main harness are connected)

And "L" is shown delivering blinking power from flasher to what would be the handlebar switch, which would correspond to the handlebar switch wiring harness. (which would then direct that blinking power to either R or L bulb)
Best-
George
