The mileage is most definitely miles - it was a U.S. bike from Osmond, Nebraska.
I did come across a complete Bing rebuiuld kit w/floats so that's the next upcoming project. I have a fellow nearby who can help balance them :-)

Nice '73, Brett, and much appreciated!! I look forward to learning more about the Saskatoon CVMG. I'm in the P.A. area and hope our paths cross as well.

I'm trying to attach some pix of my '72. The one in front of the billboard is from April 1991. That's my late wife about to make the 21 hour trip home to Alberta Canada on her new bike (her third Beemer!!) She had kept the print ad from a bike trader magazine...The other pix are more recent, taken a few years ago once the bike was back on the road after being stored over two decades.

I haven't read were you adjusted the valves? Before doing ANY work on carbs and ignition, the valves need to be set properly.

Then when they are set, do ignition point gap if you have points and timing. The last thing to work on is carbs. St.

Thanks and yes, the valves were adjusted a few years back, and points/timing checked and set. I'm considering adding electronic ignition but haven't weighed out all the pros and cons yet.

I am one who HATES points with a passion, there are no downsides to going to electronic. It can be as simple as a Dyna system or better yet the Wedge tail system.

A bit of caution, I had installed a Wedge tail system on my RS and loved it, it was the first time the performance lived up to the advertising hype. BUT, on the Airheads forum there were early issues with set up and such. Now, there is a possible issue with availability of the units in the USA.
There has been no follow up on the Airheads forum so I personally would contact Tom Cutter at Rubber Chicken or Rick at Motorrad Electrik to see what is going on.

Get rid of the points. St.
