Post by luca.stere »

The flywheel is ok but is very heavy, probably for use with sidecar. I will compare the weight with the one from the flywheel of Ural 72 engine (BMW R71 copy). I suspect that the flywheel from the R35 has more weight.

Cylinder

Post by luca.stere »

This is the cylinder after it was sandblasted, bored and honed to a bigger diameter: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... 9+-+Part+8

It was bored to a bigger diameter (75mm) instead of 73mm standard diameter. We did that in order to recover this old and original cylinder and we will use a modern VW engine piston with Goetze rings. The main advantages are that the cylinder have an old material which is becoming better with the time and the modern piston and rings have better materials and low friction technology compared to the old ones or some shady aftermarket parts that I have seen on internet.
