I went to BMW Motorcycles of Western, Oregon in Tigard. (Real close to Portland) They had a R18 you can take for a Demo ride. Cost $22,000 to buy one. I heard it run in the hallway inside. Didnt ride, not my cup of tea. Their # 503-597-7097. I have 2 BMW bikes already but they had a nice 2018 V7111 Moto Guzzi Special for sale (3045 miles). So I took it home for $7100. Has some nice addons too. So if you live close to Portland stop & see them. All kinds of New Beemer's to look at.

I've always liked Guzzis, mostly the older ones, say the 1970s era. The joke was always that the BMW jugs were, uh, sagging while the Guzzi jugs were perky and firm!

You posted that it was a V7111. I went to google that...but I find V7iii. Is that what you ended up getting?

Yes that is the one. That should be 3 ones, cause that is the third generation. But look at the 2018 V7111 Special ( Blue) I had a 70+ Guzzi 30 yrs ago. Wanted one to/looked at one. But I couldnt even get it on the center stand anymore. Just to heavy & awkward for me know. So went with newer/lighter guzzi

Why didn't you test the R18 if you already had the chance?

I only have $18000 in my account. They want $22,000 if I drop it  . It didnt even appeal to me.

I have skimmed the articles regarding the R18 and to be honest, I have no desire to even test ride one. They are NOT my cup of tea.

To have built a bike based MORE upon the /2 and early R bikes would have appealed to me but, the conversion into a "bagger" or "cruiser" looking more like something Harley would build, that soured me on the bike. St.

I read the review in cycleword. Too much plasticy shiney stuff on it. The engine is cool looking to me.

Same here srankin. Not my cup of tea, If I wanted a cruiser I would buy a Harley not a BMW pretender. BMW should give up trying to penetrate this market. Their previous attempts have also been less than successful.
