Advice on windshield for my R75/5 please

I've never liked windshields... but my "new" 1973 R75/5 is my winter/foul-weather bike and I see the advantage in having a windshield on this bike.

The current windshield (see my photos) is over 40 years old. The mounting points are stressed plus I don't want tinted.

The size is about right and ease of removal is a plus.

I am searching for a similar style, shape and quick-mounting system but there are soooo many brand-names and styles.

Perhaps one of our fine-fellow-members has already gone through the selection process and can kindly advise me on a suitable windshield ?

Any advise on brand and model number would be helpful indeed.

Thanks
Grant

thanks Chris. that looks interesting. there are 11 items on that National Cycle web-page. do you have the item number or perhaps there is a number imprinted on your wind-shield.

If you like, Ill make you a deal on a Wixom Ranger fairing for /5. Original finish isn't too badly beat up and it will match your bags. Let me know if you would like a picture.

Thanks Bill but I prefer the naked bike and a fairing would be too much. Thanks for the offer. Just looking for a light and minimalist windshield and hoping somebody in the forum can take most of the guesswork out of making my choice.

I don't recall which model I have. A number on the windshield (KRA 31450) doesn't correspond with model numbers on the page but mine looks like those in the top row. I went thru receipts even .. sorry, don't have that one for some reason. Something to watch for is ensure you get the one with the clamps for the bar diameter you have .. there is a slight difference between some bars.

This is another alternative which I have found to work very well-a Puig 0869H. I have this dark smoke on my R50 and a light smoke (essentially clear) on my Kawi W650. It gives decent wind protection on the freeway but is pretty unobtrusive. It's very cost effective (I paid about $45 on Amazon, it's similarly priced on Revzilla and others). It should attach easily to the R75/5 headlight, as that is similar to the /2.The material is acrylic, so not as durable as polycarbonate (hence the low price) but with a little bit of care it has stood up well for a couple of years now.
