LOL, I am happy you dodged getting a bad case of Previous Owner's disease, it is terribly frustrating to get and can be expensive to cure.

I have to say, you did some fine detective work and had your eyes open on this bike and that certainly helped you out a lot.

Good luck on the search. St.

Bayou,
I’m glad you saw the light, and walked on the “ R90 S”. That would have been a disappointment, and probably colored your opinion of these venerable machines.

The R90/6, is the bread and butter version, with Bing carbs. IMO, the Bings work fine, and I prefer them to the Del Ortos.

The R90/6 is a very competent machine, and is starting to be appreciated for what it is. It’s a good starting point into the airhead appreciation society. Heres a nice one, but It’s in the Chicago area.

Thank you. If I were within 250 miles of Chicago I'd buy this bike if everything checks out as listed.

There's one R90S in DO color listed at $30k. I'm sure I can find good ones for lot less, moreover, not a fan of this color.

SDCR, it is the same VIN#. It sold for $17k in May but now listed for $13k more. Wow!

I tend to peeve people on my views of asking prices, selling prices, auction prices, the later being the most absurd.

Yeah, there are cheaper R90S bikes out there in pretty darned good condition for a lot less money. Two are listed in the BMWMOA market.

LOL, the best price on a bike will be the bike that comes up for sale the day after you buy yours. St.

Bayou,

Don’t even finish reading my response.
Grab some cash and run over to Gary’s place, and buy the 1976 R90S.

It’s the one.
