Stock sidestand problem

Post by MikeL46 »

As many of us know the stock sidestand will allow your bike to roll forward and fall on it's side.

There is a very simple and cheap fix for this. The stock sidestand foot has 2 holes. Why they are there is a mystery, but they can be used to fix the problem.

Stick a 5/16" X 1/2" bolt through the outer hole and lock it in place with a nut on the other side. With that bolt in place the bike will not roll forward and fall on any reasonably flat surface, even if pointing downhill. The bolt forces the bike to go up and over the bolt before it can continue on its own. My bike can be pushed forward about 6" and it will roll back and stop.
