R80 G/S exhaust

Wondering what you guys are doing to clean up or powder coat exhaust. My exhaust pipes look terrible. The muffler also looks bad. It seems to be dirt or mud that is now baked on. Thanks, Michael

I have had my G/S ST headers and collector ceramic coated and it worked out great!

Thanks, I don't know anything about ceramic coating. Is it similar to powder coating. Can you do this yourself or does it need to be sent to a shop ? Any info would be great, Michael

Trying googling "ceramic coating motorcycle exhaust". I see some utube videos...not sure how DIY this would be...seems pretty involved to get it right.

No, really need to let someone do this that has experience and equipment (oven/powder/etc). It is not super involved, many of the powdercoating folks offer this or you can send out to some of the bigger guys like jet-hot. it is operator dependent (like powdercoating) so do your research on whoever is doing it for you.

Haven't found any ceramic coating shops in my area. What are some of you doing to redo R80 G/S exhaust ? It came black coated from the factory. Thanks, Michael

You want Cerakote Finishing, many colors to choose from.
cerakote.com Google it.
‭(215) 679-4181, Titaniumfinishing.com in PA is one company that applies it, but there are more.

You can also order a stainless repro R80 G/S system from the UK, Keihan Exhaust, superb quality, very brightly polished, but I had my Keihan Cerakote coated black for the original look.
