Re: getting the background info on the /7 bikes
The difference was in the higher RPM range, more torque and hp. But, again not in the normal street range.
LOL, a lot of high performance tips I have found over the years have been about the same kind of thing. They work great on a race track but not so much on the street. Luckily, I have wise friends who could make me see that and so I haven't spent a lot of money on "improvements". St.

Re: getting the background info on the /7 bikes
It is much appreciated.
While I have not ruled out buying an R90/6, if I find one that ticks the boxes.
I have given up searching and figure if one comes along, well it is meant to be.
Just dont want some clapped out high mileage bike that I have to rebuild from the crank up.
Some of the prices seem inflated and just not prepared to pay what some folk are asking.
So I have purchased a low mileage 2010 V7 Classic to ride around to compliment the R69s.
Let the good times roll.
Thanks again.

Re: getting the background info on the /7 bikes
Here is a photo of the bike.
Asking price is US$8500
Any comments or observations welcome.
60,000 miles
2nd owner
Log books to verify milage
Receipts to verify expenditure on work done.
I can see a few tell tale things such as single line on front mudguard - what and when was it repainted
Discs - maybe not quite model correct.
Incorrect spark plug caps
After market exhaust.
Tomorrow on closer inspection many questions might be answered and other asked.
This bike was imported to Australia when new, so not a US import.

Plus the slots in the disks don't appear to match those of the stock disk. Mirrors are aftermarket...different versions in the second picture. Can't tell about the exhaust but they appear to be the right shapes. I think OEM mufflers would have Zeuna stamped into the ring around the outlet. The seat looks like the one on my '78 /7.
I see a hydraulic dampener...I thought that only came on the R90S.

Re: getting the background info on the /7 bikes
I had a 1974 R90/6 back in 1974. It's one disc was solid, no holes. I did think the drilled discs that came a little later were just holes not slots.schrader7032 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 06, 2022 2:26 pmYeah, the twin disks up front are not standard for the R75/6...only the R90S got those. So is this a '76 model? Yup, the plug caps are NGK which are good stuff...should have a built-in resistance of at least 1K and potentially should be 5K resistance.

The exhaust system looks to be stainless, so maybe a bit noisy - we will see when we inspect it today.
Hydraulic steering damper certainly came on my R90/6, not sure about the R75/6. Seller told me he installed a new hydraulic damper unit at some stage. He is the second owner.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and comment. Much appreciated.
