RH accelerator grip

Post by curtis.weybright@comcast.net »

I have a '98 1100 RT, I'm told that it was a State Police bike in N. Carolina. I have had it extensively serviced but the RH accelerator grip is still VERY stiff. How can I get it to be more fluid and responsive? Can I take off the threaded end cap to get at it and lube it?

Hello Curtis, LOL, I guess a 98 R1100 is about the right age for this section of the forum. I am so used to seeing only airhead questions and comments.

I am sorry I can't answer your question and can only suggest perhaps asking it in another forum such as the BMWMOA oil head forum. There you will get a broader view and dial in with a bigger bunch of guys who own bikes like yours.

Then again, there are airhead owners who own oil heads and beyond. St.
