/5 turn signal/high-beam switches

Post by wbmoore »

Does anyone know if /5 turn signal and high-beam switches can be disassembled and refurbished ? They appear to have circlips that might be removable.
Has anyone done this ? Thanks.

If they're like /6 ones, there's a detent ball and spring. As you pull it apart, boing goes the spring, launching the ball into space. Try doing it inside a plastic bag. Getting it back together is fun too, but possible.

I got replacement ball bearings at the local ace hardware. They don't have to be metric, i found some that were very close to oem. They are just part of a detent w spring set up. I got 10 and shot at least 8 somewhere in my garage. It's challenging...

Thanks Charlie. Thanks Ray.
Guess I’ll squirt a buncha DeOxy inside it, cross my fingers and hope for the best.

If you don't succeed in repairing the switches, new ones are available from www.euromotoelectrics.com . Both right and left switches are available.
