Oops, I wrote blind bearing remover, I meant race remover. The bearings will come out once the seals are removed without a problem. St.

Ok - ordered the seals and new bearings today. It will be good to refresh this bit. I'll also check the final drive for leaks all over and clean it up well.

Thanks again guys.

To remove the races you will need a special tool.

I have the BMW tool, here https://www.boxer2valve.com/kukko-beari ... -21-5.html. It is part of a set needing this part as well.https://www.boxer2valve.com/kukko-pulle ... -22-2.html

They are expensive for a one or two shot use. The Cycle works tool, I have no experience with but it may work fine.

The problem is, the race is fit into the swing arm without much of a way to get "under" it to lift it out of the swing arm. Same goes for steering head bearings as well.

If you change the bearings, you must change the races, without a tool, it will be hard to get the race out unless you cut them out. St.

One method of race removal, if the puller is not available, is for a careful welder to run a bead around the inner circumference of the outer race, this shrinks the outer diameter enough (a few thousandths) to drop it out.

Well - I have two R bikes, so I can use it at least 4 times. Ordered the Kukko set. I'll have to see where my bearing drivers are out in the garage....

LOL, now you have the Kucko starter set, go all the way and get the other stuff to go with it. The steering head race puller.

Nah, just kidding, I like proper tools to do the job so I have the set. it has made things easier in a lot of cases working on my bikes or my friend's bikes.

Have fun and good luck. St.
