w/oil pickup extension and long bolts.

The image on the left with the motoren israel text is most like what I'm thinking I remember from back in the day- just a deeper finned pan, with a quart or so extra capacity, and a pickup extension.
So, if anyone has one they are no longer using, I can offer it renewed purpose!

So extra capacity but yet you add an extension to the pickup? Why not get the extra capacity and fill the sump to the original level? What about the dipstick...is that changing too?

I've always been torn with using a deep pan. Seems like adding volume helps with cooling, but if you actually lower the level of oil, you produce less windage and foaming of the oil. Maybe something in the middle is best of both worlds? :)

For myself, Kurt, I use a deep pan on the /2 sidecar rig for the extra oil capacity.
This because I see it as having to work at least twice as hard as a solo.
The chair weighs as much as two people, and if occupied (and it usually is) as much as three.
On the solo /2, the standard pan does fine in my opinion, and obviously the designers thought so.
But choosing to use a large pan for either extra oil or extra air both seem to be valid reasoning, belt and suspenders, it certainly will do no harm.

My first conversion bike (built circa 1980) used the stock R75 pan, and that was fine.
The current conversion build is also going to use an R75 motor, but had trash pistons/cylinders, and so now happens to be going to 1000cc.
And so in this case, the deep pan is wanted for the added air capacity.
