Will look out for it...
I remember a video which was shot in 1976 at the BMW Berlin factory assembling /6s... definitely an eye opener and great to see the folks that put it together...
Will look out for it...
I hope it’s the rough surfaces... the pressure plate and clutch plate were worn but serviceable...schrader7032 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:02 amI suppose that the jumpy nature could be due to the non-smooth surfaces of the clutch. It could also be that the lubrication of the transmission input splines was not thorough enough.
Used spline lube on the input shaft and friction plate... followed boxer2valves method of prepping and installation...srankin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 11:50 amNot to be a pain but when you reinstalled the transmission, did you remember to apply lubricant to the input shaft gear?
Lack of lube on this input shaft can cause screwy clutch action.
I know, it is all together and I am a jerk for saying something now, LOL, sorry, hindsight is 20/20.
Also, double check your cable adjustment as well as the clutch arm adjustment. Some fine tuning might help. St.
