Brown-Van Farowe

If your bike is not heading to concourse gatherings with judges, there are other options.

The Brown and Van Farowe side stands are the way to go from a functional perspective.
I have them on my /5 through /7 bikes, including a black R-75/5 Toaster. They are very reliable
and eliminate the weaknesses inherent in the original design.

This is an area in which the BMW engineers failed, IMHO.

thank you.. I am looking for the very original one and, as the /6 type is very similar, I am trying to get the differences to find the real one..

Do you know if the side stand on the /5 is thinner than the one mounted on the /6?

Lorenzo - the /5 sidestand is indeed thinner than the /6 item. In all other respects it is identical - length, spring lug etc. My guess is that they beefed it up when they introduced the /6 bikes. The /5 stand is almost elegant by comparison.

Part number appears to be the same for the /5 and /6.
