I was just happy to see another owner of a 1957 R-50 on the forum! Great old bike. Mine is stock engine except 50-S cam.

I have a 1957 R50 as well. It's stock with a few period accessories such as bar end signals, crash bar, Denfeld rack, and original Buco bags. It's my favorite. I read that 1957 was a tough year for German motorcycle manufacturers, as several companies went out of business and BMW only had about 5500 total production that year, or so I'm told...
