Greasing Hubs

Post by KillerTux »

Took my front wheel off my 25/3 to check brake thickness and I noticed grease where it is stained brown in the picture. I read the shop manual and every 4000 miles I should grease the hubs (oops). How do I go about doing that, how much and should I use the grease in the tube like I use to grease the plungers? Thanks!

I wish there was a tool like this for the /2 and earlier bearings:

Cycleworks sells something similar to this for about $25 for /5-on wheels.

I just had my R25/2 bearings replaced and greased by Vech. I guess I won't have to do it for a while. You might check with Vech and see what they suggest.

Hey, Killer Tux...

KillerTux: I'm not sure about the grease, but....just wondering...did you ever have a Honda ST1300? Reason I ask....there was a guy on the Honda ST forum named "KillerTux" in the Seattle area - think he sold his ST1300 and moved...really nice guy - just wondering if by chance......

Have fun with your 25/3!
